Ever wondered why the far-right has used the flag as thier symbol? Or why they call themselves “Patriots”? The answer is quite simple…it’s so that they take the power of those words with them!
I’ve met some many people that are afraid to fly the flag because they don’t want to be associated with these fringe groups. Those group don’t espouse the values of most people and therefore most don’t want to be associated with them.
I’m hear to tell you that it’s not OK. They don’t love this country any more than you or I do. As a matter of fact, you could argue they love the real America less than you or I, but we’ll save that for another post… In the meantime, we wanted to start a place where we could have safe conversations about this topic and really support each other in the effort to take back our sacred icons.
So welcome to the effort to take it all back! No more looking at a flag and assuming it’s some right winger. No more being afraid to show our patriotism in public. It’s time to stand up and say we love this country and we aren’t going to let them ruin it!
